Who are we and what do we do?
We are Borrow A Build, a small family business that love all things LEGO®. We want to share and make our passion affordable for everyone.
How does this work?
Simply chose the set you would like from our extensive collection, pick a date and duration from the availability calendar (minimum duration is 2 weeks). Build, play and enjoy your set. Then, deconstruct it back into the numbered bags box, it up and arrange for delivery/ collection or post back with provided returns label.
How much does rental cost?
Prices start from just £4 per week. We charge a percentage of each set RRP. This percentage is set’s so that a typical rental cost to you is less than the depreciation when selling a set on the second-hand market.
How do I deconstruct?
The best way is to reverse the instructions; start with the last brick you put on and work backward placing the appropriate pieces back into the relevant numbered bags (with the exception of minifigs, which go in their own bags)
Each set is provided with a tool for deconstruction. We ask that no other tools or sharp objects are used E.g. no knives or pliers etc. and PLEASE no teeth! (Someone has handled the set before you and someone will handle it afterward.)
Please note, sets must be completely deconstructed into each individual piece.
Partially built parts spoil the fun for the next renter and cause confusion when building.
A set fee of £30 will be added for any set not deconstructed!
(The only exception to parts not dismantled are windows and doors can be kept in their frames and minifigs can be left assembled)
How do I package it up again?
Once you have deconstructed and placed the pieces into the numbered bags, place the instructions (if requested) into the bottom of the box your set was sent in. Place the numbered bags back in the box, with the minifig bag and tool on top, close the box and seal it with the provided tape and anti-tamper seal. We recommend filming or photographing the box contents and you placing the anti-tamper tape on the box to protect both parties.
I think pieces are missing
Have you checked other bags? The most common issue is the bags at either side of the number you are working on containing the wrong piece.
Are you looking for or have you used the wrong colour somewhere else in the build? Some of the colours look very similar to each other when using the printed instructions.
Nope! Still missing!
We apologise, if you are still able to continue the build, please let us know what parts are missing and what numbered bag they are from and the page number. (the last pages of instructions show all parts, their quantities and part number) using the provided “Missing Parts Form” If the missing parts disrupts your build, please let us know and we will pause your rental agreement and dispatch the parts immediately.
Oops I have lost/broken parts!
Don’t panic! It happens, provided the parts are standard and in stock we will replace up to 5 pieces free of charge.
However, Minifigs, parts with stickers or set specific parts will be charged at full cost price. Retired or out of stock parts will be charged at cost price from our chosen supplier on our chosen aftermarket parts supplier (usually Bricklinks)
If you are able to continue your build without the lost or broken part, please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to order the relevant part and minimise downtime.
I don’t have time to finish my set
Get in touch and We will try our best to accommodate, if the set is not booked out after your rental than we are happy to extend your rental for a small additional cost. If the set is booked, we can TRY and settle something which will accommodate all parties.
Please remember to factor in time to dismantle the set, some sets can be equally time consuming to dismantle.

What happens if I do not return my set?
In the event that no contact has been made, we will issue an invoice for your additional rental time up to 7 days. If after 7 days and no contact/ or invoice payment we will not hesitate to pass your details on to a debt recovery company, and start legal proceedings.
